Confidentiality agreement (NDA)
This agreement concerns Dixon 2026, the private gathering in Dixon, Illinois, on 22–25 October 2026. By agreeing, I undertake to protect non-public information shared with me for the gathering, including the private venue address, guest contact details, private messages, and information specifically identified as confidential.
I will use that information only to participate in and coordinate the gathering. I will not publish or share it outside the gathering without the permission of the person concerned or the organizer who supplied it. I will ask permission before publicly posting identifiable photos, recordings, or personal stories about another guest. This is not permission for anyone else to use my image.
This agreement does not cover information already lawfully public, information I already lawfully knew, or information independently obtained without a confidentiality obligation. I may share information with my lawyer or professional adviser in confidence, comply with legal process, and report safety concerns, suspected unlawful conduct, harassment, abuse, or emergencies to appropriate authorities. Nothing restricts legally protected speech or reporting, or requires concealment of wrongdoing.
These confidentiality obligations last for two years after the gathering; personal contact details and the private address should remain private unless the person concerned authorizes disclosure or they become lawfully public. If I share information by mistake, I will promptly tell the organizer and take reasonable steps to limit further disclosure.
Illinois law applies to the extent permitted by applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions remain in effect. This agreement does not create an employment relationship or transfer ownership of anyone’s information.
Participation waiver and assumption of risk
I am agreeing for myself as an adult aged 18 or older, not on behalf of another guest or a child. A minor’s attendance requires separate arrangements with the organizers and a parent or legal guardian; this checkbox is not a minor’s waiver. Participation in Dixon 2026 and each activity is voluntary, and I may decline or stop an activity at any time.
I understand that travel, shared accommodation, cooking and eating, sports and games, outdoor activities near water, and consumption of alcohol can involve risks, including accidents, falls, drowning, food allergies or illness, injury, property damage, and serious injury or death. I voluntarily assume the inherent and reasonably foreseeable risks of the activities I choose, including risks arising from ordinary negligence only to the extent a release is permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by Illinois law, I release the volunteer organizers, participating hosts, and property owners from claims for my personal injury or property damage arising from my voluntary participation, including their ordinary negligence related to those activities. This does not release gross negligence, reckless or willful misconduct, intentional wrongdoing, or any liability or rights that cannot lawfully be waived. It does not excuse anyone from applicable duties under law.
I am responsible for choosing activities appropriate to my health and ability, communicating allergies and dietary or accessibility needs directly to the organizers, and checking ingredients before eating. Food is not guaranteed allergen-free. I will follow reasonable safety instructions, respect the property and other guests, and supervise any child in my care. I will not enter water or use unfamiliar equipment without appropriate precautions.
Alcohol is optional and only for people aged 21 or older. I will comply with the law, will not drive while impaired, and will arrange safe transportation. Organizers do not guarantee professional supervision, lifeguards, medical services, insurance coverage, or transportation safety. In an emergency, call 911. I remain responsible for my own medical and travel costs except where another party is legally responsible.
I have read these terms, understand that the release may limit legal claims, and agree voluntarily. Illinois law applies to the extent permitted by applicable law; an unenforceable provision does not invalidate the remaining lawful provisions. No statement here guarantees that this waiver will be enforceable in a particular situation.
Reading this page does not record agreement. Each guest must agree personally when submitting or editing their RSVP. If you have questions or do not agree, contact the organizers before submitting.
